Upright Z fold card

Hello, today I am sharing the upright Z fold card. This is very quick and very easy to make and an interesting twist on the Z fold card.

 Measurements:

Card base cardstock = one piece 12 × 6" and another piece 5 1/4 × 5 1/4"
2 pieces of gold miri card = 5 3/4 × 5 3/4"
1 peice of pattern paper = 5 1/2 × 5 1/2"
1 piece of white card = 5 1/2 × 5 1/2"
1 piece of gold miri card = 5 × 5"
1 piece of pattern paper = 4 3/4 × 4 3/4"
1 piece of gold miri card = 5 3/4 × 2 3/4"
1 piece of pattern paper = 5 1/2 × 2 1/2"

Take the 12 ×6" cardstock and with the 12" side at th top score at 6" then flip the cardstock over and score at 9". Fold and burnish these 2 score line so you have a valley and mountain.

Mount the 5 1/2 × 5 1/2 pattern paper onto a piece of 5 3/4 × 5 3/4 mirror card and adhere to the front of the card leaving a 1/4" boarder.

Stamp a sentiment onto the white card and adhere this to the other piece of 5 3/4 × 5 3/4" mirror card. Afix this to the back of the card.

Take the 5 1/2 × 5 1/2" piece of pattern paper and attach to the miri card which measures 5 3/4 × 5 3/4" then attach these to the front on the card.

Matt and layer you remaining cardstock so that the pattern paper attaches to the miri card and then onto the 5 1/4 × 5 1/4" base card. Place a topper in the centre to complete the front of the card. This than attaches to the 5 1/2 × 2 1/2" pattern paper on the front of the card leaving a small boarder all around.

Using foam pads afix either embellishments or a smaller topper to the top of the card so that the square on the mountain fold catches beneath to hold the card together.

Gift tags (embossed)

Hello everyone today I am sharing some fun techniques for heat embossing gift tags. This is an alternative way to decorate your gifts/cards this Christmas and all year round.

This is a 2 part series and a video is linked below.

The first tag is cut from red cardstock. Versafine ink was used to stamp the image, I used Hologram Sparkle embossing powder and a poinsettia from Christmas Florals (Creative Stamping issue 76) I then used the "With love at Christmas" sentiment from Silhouette Scenes ( Creative Stamping issue 77) and the same embossing powder to finish.

The second tag is cut from white cardstock and I used a Santa stamp from Crafts Beautiful magazine issue 323. I used Versafine ink to stamp the image and then Heritage Rubber Stamp co embossing powder in white to emboss the image. Once the powder was melted I used a blending brush and a red Stampin Up ink pad to completely cover the tag in ink. Using an old baby wipe I buffed the excess ink off of the embossed image. The result is a gorgeous white image on an inked background.

Kraft card inspiration

You will need:

A 6 × 6 card blanc
1 piece of kraft card cut to 5 1/2 × 5 3/8"
1 piece of white card cut to 5 1/2 × 5 3/8"
2 x gold miri card cut to 5 3/4 × 5 5/8"
A tag or topper.
Stamps
Embossing powder, heat gun, embossing ink, glue and embellishments.

Adhere yours white card to a piece of miri card, stamp a sentiment and glue inside the card leaving roughly 1/4" boarder.

Ink up you stamps and create a pattern background all over your kraft card. Sprinkle embossing powder over the top, tapping off the excess and setting with the heat gun.
Adhere the craft card to the miri card and attach to the front of the card.
Place the topper at an angle on the card ensuring you can still see the embossed background.

Bunting card 

For this card you will need:

1 piece of 3.5 × 12" plain cardstock
1 piece of 6 × 6 pattern paper
1 piece of white card
1 piece of Miri card
A set of nesting dies (I have linked the ones I used below)
A die cutting machine
A pencil,adhesive & scissors

Method

Fold the piece of plain cardstock in half and burnish the fold line.
Take a large bunting die and place it onto the folded cardstock ensuring the top of the die is slightly higher than the fold line of your card. Pass this through you die cutting machine.

Select the next size down from your nest of bunting dies and use this to cut a new peice of bunting from the pattern paper and the white cardstock. N. B use the whole of this die on the pattern paper and white card, do not leave any gaps.

Using the same die, put your miri card white side up, place the die on the miri and using your pencil draw round the outside of this die. You need to do this twice. Cut both of these out.
Adhere a piece of miri card to the front of your card and then attach the pattern paper to it. Embellish the front as required.

Adhere the second piece of miri card to the inside of the card with the white cardstock attached on top. Stamp a greeting to finish.

Triptych Card

Start with a 7 × 5" cardbase. Matt a piece of 6 7/8 × 4 7/8" silver Miri card onto the cardbase.


Cut an image into three sections and then make a matt layer for them to sit on that is 1/4"  larger than the piece of picture. E.g if the picture piece is 2 × 4" the matt layer for underneath needs to be 2 1/4 × 4 1/4".

Adhere the three picture pieces to their corresponding Matt's.
Afix the picture and their Matt's onto the miri card leaving a small boarder using wet glue

Stamp a sentiment onto cardstock measuring 1/2 × 2 1/4", matt it onto a peice of cardstock measuring 3/4 × 2 1/4" and position on the card using foam pads.
Embellish as required.

Split Panel Card - New Size

For this card you will need:

A piece of 12" x 6" cardstock
A piece of cardstock (the same colour as the above) measuring 4 1/2" x 3 1/2
A topper measuring 4" x 3 1/4"
2 x pieces of pattern cardstock measuring 1 3/4" x 5 3/4"
Embellishments of you choice

For the inside you will need:

A piece of pattern card stock measuring 5 3/4" x 5 3_4"
A piece of white cardstock measuring 5 1/2" x 5 1/2"
Sentiment of your choice

Take the 12" x 6" cardstock and with the long side at the top score at 6" and fold and burnish.

Open the card back up and with the long side at the top score at 2". Cute along this scoreline and keep the off cut to one side as you will need it later.

You will now have one part of the card shorter than the other. Score and cut another 2" from the shortest piece of card so that all you are left with is a 6" x 2" panel.

Adhere your 5 3/4" x 1 3/4" pattern paper to the panel on the card and the off cut panel from earlier leaving a 1/4" boarder.

Take you 5 3/4" x 5 3/4" pattern paper and adhere to the inside of the card leaving a boarder and then affix the white cardstock to this again leaving a small boarder.

Attach your topper to the piece of cardstock measuring 4 1/2" x 3 1/2"

Take you offcut panel and line it up with the bottom of the card, ensuring all edges are flush with each other.
Using glue on the top and bottom part only mount the topper onto the top panel and bottom panel on the left edge of the card.

Now in the window section where you can see through to the white cardstock, stamp/adhere your sentiment.

Handmade notebook tutorial

To make a notebook you will need:
A4 printer paper
12 x 8 patterned paper
A cereal box (or similar)
Hot glue
Wet glue
Bulldog clips/pegs

Take a peice of A4 printer paper and fold it short side to short side. Open it back up and fold it long side to long side. This will leave you a grid of 4 oblongs. Use a trimmer or cutting tool and cut along your fold lines so that you are left with 4 separate pieces of paper. Repeat this process until you have your desired amount of pages.

Gather the pages into a pile ensuring they are neatly together and fasten down one side using your bulldog clips/pegs. Use your hot glue down the long side that does not have clips on it making sure to cover every peice of paper. Work your way up and down the long side until you have a good covering of glue. This creates the spine for your notebook.

When the glue is dry place your page on your cereal packet and draw round it. You will need to do this twice. Cut out the outline you made on the cereal packet - this is going to become your cover.

Take a other peice of A4 paper and repeat step 1. This time only cut our one section.

Take your new oblong of paper and fold it long side to long side but don't fold right to the edge this time, leave a small gap. Repeat this step on the opposite long side. You should now have the outline of a spine down your paper.

Using wet glue adhere the cardboard flaps to the paper oblong and ensure they are flush with the fold line but not across it.

Place your newly created cover onto the patterned cardstock and fold the cardstock over all 4 sides of the cardboard. Burnish these folds and then use wet glue to adhere these to the cardboard.

Using hot glue on the spine section you can now position the pages of your notebook in the cover.

Lastly use your wet glue and adhere the page next to the cover to the cardboard to hide all your seams and cardboard. Repeat at the other end of the notebook.

You can now decorate/personalise/embellish your notebook.
